The French shipping line CMA CGM has announced its new direct call at Nacala, on its Swahili Express Service. Swahili Express is a weekly fixed-day service operated with 6 vessels up to 2,800 TEU nominal capacity. It made its first direct call at Nacala through Kumasi early this year. Effective from July 21st every fortnight, port coverage will include Nhava Sheva (India), KhorFakkan (UAE), Jebel Ali (UAE), Longoni (Comoros), Dar Es Salaam (Tanzania), Zanzibar (Tanzania) and Nacala (Mozambique).
This service will open the doors for two very important container terminals worldwide. The Nhava Sheva Port is the largest container terminal in India and Jebel Ali Port is the world’s largest artificial port and the international center for container transshipment.
The new service will strengthen the role played by Nacala as a regional center for transport.
