Container Terminal

Characteristics

– A container terminal with two quays, with a capacity to handle 100.000 TEUs yearly.
– The quay is 372 m in length, with a 15 m draft at low tide.
– Maximum storing capacity 5.722 TEUS.
 
 
Handling Equipment

– Eight 42 tones forklifts (reach stacker) with a telescopic separator for the 20’ and 40’ feet containers.
– Three 42 tones forklifts (reach stacker) with a telescopic separator for the 20’ and 40’ feet containers.
– One 32 tons forklift
– Eleven forklifts 16 tons for empty containers.
– 12 trucks for movement of containers.

Liquid Bulk Terminal

Characteristics

A Bulk Liquid Terminal linked to a fuel tank through a pipeline of 3.5Km and vegetable oil tanks with a capacity of 2,400 tons.



Port Security

The Port of Nacala now has an electronic surveillance system CCTV with sufficient cameras to cover the port perimeter. This system has contributed to an improved security at the port.
